Paul Craig
Biography
Paul is a Senior Director at GMCS and degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and Law and is a Professional Member of the RICS and CIArb. Paul has also successfully completed the RICS accredited Mediator course and the Cardiff University Accredited Expert Witness course.
Paul has over 24 years of experience in the construction industry, with over 12 years of construction industry experience in the Middle East. Paul is a chartered quantity surveyor who has carried out duties for clients and contractors on contract formulation, claims and dispute management, as well as the administration of contracts in a variety of sectors such as high-rise buildings, rail and infrastructure, gas terminals and water treatment plants.
Paul has focused his expertise in the area of claims and alternate dispute resolution, achieving a wide range of experience having worked closely with arbitrators and adjudicators, and more recently, with a number of leading construction law firms in the Middle East. Paul has been appointed as an independent expert witness in quantum and has given written and oral evidence in ICC, DIAC and ADCCAC arbitrations. He regularly acts as an expert adviser to claimants and respondents and their external counsel in prosecuting and defending claims in arbitration proceedings, adjudications, and expert determinations. Paul has also been appointed to assist local court-appointed experts to review parties’ claims.
Paul has given written and oral evidence in ICC, DIAC and ADCCAC arbitrations including gaining experience in being “hot-tubbed” as well as being appointed as a dual expert dealing with both delay and quantum matters in an ad hoc arbitration.
