GMCS has experience in providing alternative advisory services to clients on the range of contractual and extra-contractual dispute resolution options.
A number of consultants employed by GMCS are experienced arbitrators, adjudicators, mediators and have sat on DABs and / or provided independent expert determinations. Further details of individuals who can act in this capacity are available on request.
This range of experience within GMCS means that it is well positioned to provide advisory services to clients on the range of contractual and extra-contractual dispute resolution options that are available. Although GMCS would not be able to advise on a dispute when one of its employees was, for example, appointed as a mediator, our extensive knowledge and wide network of professional contacts allow us to provide valuable strategic insight. We principally would do this for clients looking to explore how methods of ADR might assist them in achieving a successful outcome for their business in a more private and cost-effective manner than engaging in arbitration or litigation.
At GMCS we are firm believers that there should be no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ approach to dispute resolution, especially one in which a client is ‘fast tracked’ into arbitration without due consultation of the alternatives first. Each client, each project and each dispute is unique and we believe that a significant part of the reason why so many of GMCS’s clients use us time and time again is that we treat them as such.
